SHOW LEBANON THE LOVE
With lives, livelihoods and living conditions on the line, your support is indispensable.
Our humanitarian assistance in Lebanon started early in 2020 with overwhelming economic hardship in the country. Financial strain compounded by the global COVID pandemic led to food insecurity for families across the country. AGBU stepped in to provide monthly food and basic supplies to thousands of families thanks to the support of donors Vatche and Tamar Manoukian. As a result, community members and donors quickly joined in the efforts to reach beyond the initial anticipated campaign.
Months later, the devastating explosion that rocked the world of thousands of civilians in Beirut and beyond felt like a last straw scenario for a nation already crippled by crisis. AGBU did not skip a beat to provide for Armenians and Lebanese compatriots.
ABOUT AT WORK
DAMAGED BUILDINGS, UNDETERRED SPIRITS
AGBU’s own buildings like the Demirdjian Center and one of our medical dispensary buildings sustained substantial damage, but our community leaders of all ages forged on giving back to those in need and providing programming in a safe environment. We continue finding ways to gather and support in mindful and meaningful ways.
